The NYC Fire Pension Fund Sub-Chapter II Medical Board seeks an Orthopedic Physician to determine medical eligibility for disability benefits.

Qualifications include:-

•  Board Certified Orthopedist
•  Valid NY State Medical License
•  3+ years as a Disability Evaluation Specialist or related experience.

The NYC Fire Pension Fund seeks an orthopedic physician for its Sub-Chapter II Medical Board. Board Physicians work under limited supervision, examining and evaluating medical evidence to determine eligibility of Firefighters and Fire Officers for disability benefits under the New York City Administrative Code and preparation of summary medical reports. Board Physicians may be required to review the work of other examiners and meet 1 day per week. Remuneration is at the rate of $190 per hour.

Location:- New York, NY (10004)

Qualifications:-

•  Board Certified Orthopedist; and
•  Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in New York State; and
•  At least three years of experience as a Disability Evaluation Specialist or related experience.

Experience:-
Knowledge of Federal/NY State/NYC laws and regulations pertaining to government policies, regulatory codes, legislation, directives, court precedents or other guidelines. Knowledge of occupational medicine. Ability to summarize, analyze, synthesize, and interpret complex medical data. Skill in preparing written communications and quasi-legal documents. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships; analyze and evaluate relevant facts and findings related to claims adjudication, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
